Rehab - Gates and Girls

Chelsea walked with Leon through the gardens, towards the opened gates. They'd been put as a no-go zone for any of the public, guarded by New Pendragon Defense Force 24/7 in case something would happen to it. Chelsea knew they had no chance whatsoever to get there, but she figured maybe showing them would brighten Leon's spirits in regards to the inability to fulfill the task back in the attack. Though that was all speculation on Chelsea's end. She'd volunteered to take on his nursing and taking care for him during his rehab.

"Sorry for bothering you like this." Leon apologized as he walked beside her. "I am sure you have better things to be doing than taking care of me." Leon truly appreciated what Chelsea had do for him. His rehab was coming along nicely, not that his demon body needed much time to recover.

"It's fine. You got me out of Arakai, remember? This is the least I could do for you. I know it won't make us even, but it's a start." She put him at a bench for a minute, while picking him a couple flowers, then coming back and practically shoving them in his hands without giving him any choice in the matter. "By the way, I've not heard anything from that Azir guy. He was really nice, and kind, but. After New Pendragon was freed, he just seemed to have vanished."

Leon couldn't help but let a small smile leak out as he examined the flowers he had been given. It was a kind gesture.

"I see, I was hoping to hear news about him, but with my injuries I haven't been able to move around much to speak with the others. He did mention going North though...once we were done with Pendragon..." Leon trailed off looking to Chelsea.

"Your demonic artifact hasn't been bothering you right?" Leon asked cautiously examining the girl's arm.

She shook her head, her long hair flying wildly. "I've been told it's a Demonic Arms, one of 12 unique items and weapons that select their owner, rather than the owner selecting them. They go with the owner until they die or change in such a way that the item no longer deems them worthy. Or some bull like that. This one apparently grants visions on possible and likely futures. And from what I've seen the one time it activated, and the fact Azir went missing now. It may be that what I saw, will come to pass."

Leon nodded solemnly. He had seen the visions when he had be in contact with her. The visions were terrifying to say the least and he could only imagine what other things she had seen.

"Those visions...if they are sure to pass then Azir must have gone North. They were not the most pleasant things to see." Leon thought for a while then turned to Chelsea.

"What do you want to do? I can only image what your Demonic Arm shows you. There is nothing wrong with trying to get away from it all. To do what you want. To find happiness."

"Well, I'm happy right now. Just having a stroll with you, helping you, talking. I don't really need anything world changing. Though it made me think. What if the fact that Azir did see it, is what made it that that future is to happen? That if he hadn't been told, that future would not happen?"

Leon tapped his chin. A paradox then? Without knowing about the North, Azir would have never gone to investigate. Therefore the vision could not exist.

"I don't know, I would need to know more about your item to take a reasonable guess." Leon stated with sigh. "I guess the best course of action would be to go North to find Azir or wait for a vision to come to you that would guide us."

"Though. It was soon after the battle here ended, that those gates opened. What if Azir did go north and whatever happened up there, caused the gates to open? Eh, it's all possibilities into infinity. At least we're here, he's not, and this thing is looking kinda nice though, maybe not the function, but at least its optical value."

Leon was impressed. Chelsea kept throwing out possibilities and potential answers to the question that presented themselves. She was smart...for a human.

"The view is nice." Leon agreed as he began to relax. "Thank you for taking me here. It is more peaceful that I had anticipated." He felt the wind pass through the area and let out a small smile.

She couldn't hold back a smile. It was peaceful. After the battles and wars that had been raging, a simple day seemed precious beyond imagination. She was glad she could bring him here so that he could enjoy himself. But also that she got to spend time with him. The moment she'd heard he was severely injured she felt like she lost her family. As she thought about that, her mind trailed off to the cult that had raised her. It felt wrong now, all those things they taught her.

Chelsea smiled and Leon thought is was beautiful. Aside from his family he had never gotten close to others. Acquaintances yes, maybe slight friends, but never truly close. Whether is was recoil to what had happened to his family or because they were of separate race from him, he just never chose to get familiar with other. But here siting with Chelsea in the garden, he felt like it was a waste not to get to know humans. Leon shook himself free of his ramblings and look to Chelsea who looked to be deep in thought.

"Penny for your thoughts," Leon called out.

She looked over at him, a bit startled at the sudden words from him. "Oh, no, nothing. Just something about my youth kept me busy. Nothing to worry about." The Demonic Arms on her hand looked as pretty as it ever did. It had only activated once. And when it did, it hadn't been particularly pleasant. She hoped it never would go off again, and maybe she could get rid of it somehow.

Leon allowed the topic to drop. He would rather not force a conversation she was uncomfortable with. He mentally sighed and looked over the gardens again with muted interest. His eyes eventually drifted to the portal. Would he want to go home to the demon realm? Was it even his home, as he was born here in the human realm.

"Do you want to go to another realm?" Leon asked almost wistfully. "To see what another world has in store?"

She looked up at the sky, the wind wavering through her hair ever so slightly. "Maybe. I don't want to stay, until I know what it's like. Check out, perhaps, yes. After all I wouldn't want to say that I go to another world and then figure out it's one big jungle, or a huge desert, or sea. I'd like to know I can stay there normally first. But, yeah, I'd want to just look around. If there are any."

Leon allowed a small chuckle to escape his lips. He didn't mean to stay but he guessed that his phrasing could have been better.

"I didn't mean to stay, I was asking more along the lines visiting other worlds. In addition to this world there should be one for each species. Like Demons, Angels and Beasts. I think would be nice to see the others worlds at least once. If they inhabitable, maybe even stay." He sent a look back to Chelsea with a small smile.

"I have to heal first though, so hopefully my rehab will be over soon."

Her thoughts trailed off. If these worlds were out there, that means the legend she grew up with got more backbone. In fact, it would solidify the whole history of the cult. If indeed there were these 4 worlds, then the Goddess they served might have been real, or the person represented as a Goddess. If that was true, then there might be a lot more history attached and given enough time, she could try to find out about it all. The 'Phoenix Annihilation', the battle depicted as her final claim over all worlds. The 'Crushing of the Rebellion', where she smashed an uprising. Her 'Iron Rule', a period of time in which she'd have ruled with hard hand and the eventual 'Salvation', in which she vanished, having taken the guilt and blame for everything in order to restore peace and unity to the 4 Worlds. Off course it has been thousands of years ago, so finding traces of these events would be nigh impossible. But it still was a goal for her. If Leon could and wanted to help in that. Well, she'd have to ask him first.

Leon watched as Chelsea sunk again into her thought. He mentally reran what he had said and sighed when he came up empty on what had caused her to lose focus. Leon assumed he would never understand, and he might never want to understand the the female psyche. Was it about her demonic artifact? Or her past... Leon really didn't know. For as much time the two spent together, he didn't know that much about her. Her past and how she got the artifact were still as much as a mystery from the day he met her on the beach. Why should he even care? Leon stopped that train of thought before it took root.

"Um...Chelsea, you alright?" Leon hesitantly asked.

She snapped out of it, then quickly nodded. "Yeah. You just made me think about some things I grew up with." She sat down next to him, placing a hand on his. "I want to tell you some things. They're not common public knowledge, but belong to a, well. Group of individuals. A group I've been raised in. It may sound crazy, or retarded, hell even wishful thinking, but. Would you like to listen?"

Leon cocked an eyebrow. Here he was wondering about her past and then she sits down next to him and says she wants to tell him. Leon was having a hard time convincing himself that she wasn't psychic. It was best to simply let her speak. He would sort his musing later.

"Of course I will listen," Leon responded grasping the hand she placed on his. "I will try to keep open mind." He nodded urging her to begin.

"Well, the group could be called a cult, with how things were going. Absolute truths and all that. Usually you have religions revolving around a bigger essence, a creature that created heaven and earth, bla bla. My cult revolved around something similar yet. Different. According to history, over 4000 years ago, there was a civilization here, far more advanced than we nowadays are. I've looked in the history records of New Pendragon when I got the chance and found pictures. Machines, rusted beyond repair, missing many parts, but resembling a humanoid form sort of robot. And a lot bigger than us. Imagine one as tall as a house. This was one of the pieces of proof supporting our religion. But in the midst of this civilization, someone arose called C.C., and yeah, that's a weird name. This woman, green long hair and a red marking on her head, slowly started to show great power. Within several months, almost a year, she'd accumulated more power than the most powerful of creatures. Immortal and capable of many things, she became branded as a Goddess." Her story telling was quite passionate. Clearly she started to believe all of this, especially now with the opening of the gateways to other worlds. "However, soon enough she saw the wars and all that between worlds and races. What she did, according to our history, is that she waged war, by herself, against all these 4 worlds, that you mentioned. She took control of them, ending with this beast world, where she annihilated an entire army led by a phoenix with a single shot. Then, a rule of supposedly terror followed, where she held the reigns real short on everyone. But not to show her power or to feed off of their misery. Instead, it was to concentrate all their attention on her and make them forget about why they hated each other, make them work together. Then, at the key point, a rebellion rose up and managed to fight her away. She left the worlds and was never heard from since. That's where opinions inside our cult vary. Some say she died in the final battle, others say she fled and still lives somewhere in hiding. Some even say she never existed, but was merely the ideal."

Leon listened silently and patiently. The idea was intriguing to say the least. Digging back to 4000 years ago and uncovering the truth to what sounded like a world changing event. No...maybe it was THE world changing event. He could not deny it was an amazing story...but was it true? This cult or group claimed to have proof but... It was then Leon realized what Chelsea was aiming at. If the human civilization had records, surely other worlds would have them too. They would need to find them.

"It sounds tempting," Leon agreed a smile coming to his lips. "If this world still has evidence then the other worlds must have records of the events as well. At least if their civilizations survived." His gaze once again found its way back to the portal.

"Count me in."

"If. Those others worlds exist. Like said, this all is based on theory, though a theory that seems to become more and more likely with these gates now." Her hand rubbed over the purple crystal on her hand. "And, this. Well, it's said that only a true heir of the Goddess can wield it. It rejected all people who tried. My mother wished to try it on me when I was an infant, but the thought of a girl heir was an insult. They assaulted her, killed her. It was by chance, that she bashed against the stand holding it, and the thing apparently recognized me and attached itself to me. It wasn't until after Azir told me that I knew it had nothing to do with the Goddess. Just one of 12 Demonic Arms. Some religion that turned out to be."

Leon didn't know what to say. A tragic past with misunderstandings and lies woven in. Born believing in a religion that killed her family and practically enslaved her without her knowledge. Forcing a belief onto her because of the item. Leon pulled Chelsea to him, embracing her in a tight hug.

"I'm sorry to hear that. I can only imagine what you faced in your childhood. If you don't want to look into the matter any further then we can stop here. But if it does interest you I will be more than willing to help you."

At first overcome with surprise and shock of his unannounced action, she eventually returned the hug, enjoying his arms around her. "Well. Despite of what happened, I still want to find out. If these worlds are real, that put's some truth to the story." She wasn't gonna let some stupid zealots from her past decide what she was gonna do and what not. It was her life and she was interested in history. So, she'd investigate.
