First Impressions

*Darius walked through the forest as per usual. He had done his routine hunting which he had found a few hares along with collecting whatever safe berries he could find. Today like any other day, or so he hoped. DArius muttered to himself slightly.* "I wish Madison were here.. even with being able to control fire I cant cook meat." *He had been taught to, though it was a forgotten art to him.*

Tendou wandered through the forest his hand on the hilt of his sword at his side as he looked around, curious about this world now. He had left Veronica earlier so he could explore this world and learn more about it. As he turned the corner around some trees he stopped when he saw a man.

OOC: He's to the right of Darius just inside his peripheral vision.

*Darius continued talking to himself, though sensing something. He trailed off and put down what he had collected to look over them. Plans weren't really his thing but he had thought of this quickly. As he examined that days catchings and collectables (Berries) He tried slipping the lighter into his hand.* "Where is it.."

He blinked watching the man as he then leaned against a tree. "Want some help?" He let go of his sword's hilt and crossed his arms resting a foot up on the trunk of the tree behind him.

*Darius turned at the sound.* "Who are you?" *He was never one to think before he acted, well.. rarely he did.* "And why are you wearing a pointy hat?" *He had the lighter lit, a few more seconds and he would have a suffcient supply of fire at hand. Did that guy have swords?*

Looking at the lighter he blinked. "You can create fire with that small of a thing?" He pushed off the tree and walked towards him slowly. "Anyway, sorry if I scared you."

*He looked at the lighter, turning it off after the fire was ready.* "Yeah, but you didn't answer my question.. Who are you?" *He had fire ready if he needed it, but this man seemed not hostile. Just like a lot of people he had to kill.*

"Ah, right. I'm Tendou Tatsumoto." He bowed slightly. He then stood up and walked up to the man. "So, you're not afraid of forests here?" He stopped when they were about arms length apart.

"Wild animals are afraid of fire. If you mean poisonous plants I suppose one could fear them." *He propelled a small fireball a few meters away to show what he could do. It was both a warning and a test of his skill.* "I assume you haven't seen a lighter before." *He tossed it to Tendou.*

He blinked before quickly catching the lighter and looking at it. "So this thing can shoot fireballs as well as create fire?" He seemed confused. "Why?" He tossed the lighter back to him.

"It can make fire, I can shoot it." *He tried catching the lighter, though it fell and he had to pick it up. Thinking for a moment he put in his his pocket and launched a fireball at the ground.* "I use fire as an aid in keeping away and cooking animals. That's mostly why."

"So you can manipulate fire?" He sat down and sighed. "Can most humans do this?"

"Not any people Ive seen. How would you not know this? Are you from a different time or something?" *He though of the possibility of Tendou being non-human. What looks like a person but isn't? He remembered a wolf that looked similar to a human in shape.*

"I'm not exactly from this world. I'm exploring it now to learn more." He then looked to him. "So I gave my name, what's yours?"

"Darius. It you aren't from here then what are you?" *This was confusing to him, that creatures from other.. wherever Tendou came from could come to his.*

"Hmm...you don't know of the gates do you?" He then stood up. "I'm from a world of monsters I guess you can say. It's not as bad as it sounds. There's some safe places there. Now to your question of what am I? I am rare among my kind. Hell to even get to here from the gate I flew."

"Gates? There a world of monsters? Why should I believe you? You cant fly with out wings very well.." *Darius was confused and bored. Was this man simply lying to him? If he was he put up a good act.* "What safe places do you mean in a world of monsters.. wouldn't they just be.. animals?"

"There's a village that I live in that's safe. Yes what you say about flying without wings is true...luckily I do have those."

"Do you hide them in your hat?" *He joked, commenting on the unusually large hat.* "If your from a world of monters why do you look human?"

"Because I'm a rarity of my race." He then walked around a bit picking up some sticks before walking back to Darius and placing the sticks on the ground in a shape of a tent. "I'm guessing you want to cook your food there." He nodded to the dead hares.

"I can try, though my sister was the one who remembers how to do it best." *He was okay with talking to this strangley dressed man, he seemed nice.* "You seem most interested in my fire.. Does you.. race associate with it? Perhaps idolize it?"

"I see...well I can help cook them. Also we do associate with fire, but we more so symbolize fire than idolize it." He grabbed another stick from the ground before pushing it into the pile of sticks he made and flame appeared to spread from his hand, down the stick until it caught the sticks on fire creating a small bonfire. "Why do you ask?"

*He saw the fire come from nowhere, well.. from the mans hand.* "How did you.. You can create fire out of nothing? I can control it.. but that's better.. CAn you control fire?"

"Yeah...anyone of my race can control fire. Like I said we Symbolize it." He had put emphasis on the word symbolize. "Here's a hint at what race I am. We're majestic, we have wings, beaks and are made of fire." He poked at the fire with a new stick now. "Oh..and if we die we reincarnate."

*He thought about it, the name was bouncing around in his head but he couldn't quite get it.* "Hmm... Are you like.. a fire angel or something? Oh! a fire bird.. Hmm Phoenix?" *He thought of the name and hoped he was right. Darius pointed at Tendou when he said Phoenix*
