Anastarya walked down the road, taking in the sights of farmland and animals. "It really is more peaceful once you get away from the ruins..." She pulled out her pad and quill, writing down stuff as she walked.

Raphael was walking around with a backpack on, he managed to get supplies together today. "Guess all my schooling didn't prepare me for this." He laughed.

She put her pad up, spotting a human walking along the road. She debated with herelf on whether or not to engage with him. Her curiosity winning out, she called out to him. "Excuse me! Can I have a moment of your time?" She was speaking Angelic, having forgotten to put her traslation spell into effect.

Raphael stopped, "hmm what did you say?" He knew a few languages but he did not reconize that one.

She saw his confusion, and realized she hadn't used the translation spell. She quickly cast it, speaking again. "My apologies. May I have a moment of your time?" She waited for him to get closer.

He got closer to her he was walking his usual slow pace, "ah yes what do you need help with?" His tone was that of a person who was use to answering questions.

"I am gathering tomes." She smiled. "Seeing as the nearby city was destroyed...do you know of any sources of tomes?"

He looked at her strangely, "no I have no idea where you would find tome." He tried to not move around too much as it made the invisible chains on him rattle.

She thought for a moment. "You humans may know them as "books"." She looked back at him.

"What kind of books are you looking for?" He had a few books on him to help pass time.

"Anything that might help me understand human culture better...histories, anything really." She spoke at length about what she had come to the human world, and the amount of books she had back home.

"Ah a lot of my books focus more on science and stuff. I am sure they would be boring to you. I am not sure i there are any safe places to find books around here anymore."

"I see...so I must go far afield of the gate to find them..." She looked at the ground, deep in thought. She would need markers...some way to know where she was. A map perhaps? "...would you happen to have a map of this realm?"

He pulled out a piece of paper, "I have been working on mapping out fhe area to get supplies easier." He showed her the map, "I guess since you seem to not be from around here I can let you have the map."

She looked at the map. "You need it, do you not?" She pulled out her pad, turning to a new page. She copied down what she could, handing it back to him.

"Yeah I might need it." He looked at her, "you really should be careful there are other people who are not nice like me around here."

"Oh, I am capable of defending myself." She put her pad away. "I have studied for decades, and learned spells that I can use if someone dares to attack me. I am not a frail Angel."

"It is thoughtful of you to be concerned though. Thank you." She smiled. There were some humans after all who were polite and reasonable.

He smiled back, "you are welcome." He started to head off in another direction.

She watched as he started walking again, and had an idea. "Would you mind if I traveled with you for a while? I could use someone who knows the area. You will of course be paid for this." She drew from her pouch a small bag.

She smiled, putting the bag back in her pouch. "All I have is Angel currency though, is that acceptable?" She walked alongside him as they talked.

"It is fine I do not need payment." He smiled, "what brings you around here are you only looking for books?"

"Books and knowledge. The latter can be found anywhere. In the trees, in the air, and the soil beneath us. The former is a bit harder to come by, especially when humans set about destroying things." Maybe she'd comb the ruins for a library? Perhaps some books survived there.
