Another Day

Rosaline was outside, bringing out garbage that had accumulated during Dimitre's tenure of the place.

Veronica ran through the woods looking for the main path through the jungle. She had decided to take a 'short cut' but it had lead her further astray than she hoped. As she ran past another wave of tree, she came across a clearing. Surprise over took her, when she spotted a familiar woman.

"Rosaline?"

Rosaline turned around, looking for the person who'd spoken her name. "Oh, it's you, dear. Doing well for yourself?"

A small smile crept onto Veornica's lips before she shook her head.

"I have something serious to tell you. Pendragon is going to bomb, Araai city soon!" Veronica urgently reported. "Is there anyone in the city you need to get out?"

She shook her head. "Poor fools...over reacting to something simple." She sighed. "Make sure Lysandra is safe, that's all I ask."

Veronica nodded accepting Rosaline's request.

"I am sorry for leaving you in the city. I came back here as soon as I heard they were going to bomb the city. How is everyone doing?" Veronica asked. "Are you still taking care of the wolf girl?"

"Yeah, the wolf girl did okay for herself, she took off when she recovered. Dimitre went with the winged girl, Astraria. He fell in love with her...and as his mother, I kinda have to accept it." She chuckled a little.

"Dimitre? Ah was it that boy from the market place?" Veronica realized snapping her fingers. "He feel for Astraria? Then you have no other children to look after?" Veronica asked tone dripped in sadness.

She shook her head. "I'd look after them, but I don't want to seem like an overbearing mother. So, it's just me here."

Veronica perked up remembering something. "That's right. I talked with Astraria after leaving Arakai. She sad I should accept your offer. I would but...I am not sure how much I would be around. I don't think a quiet life would fit me too well."

"All I ask is that you visit me, dear." She smiled, glad to have another family member. "I understand that you have your life, and I have mine."

Veronica smiled nodding her head. "I hope Dimitre isn't too jealous about sharing his mother. She laughed. "Is there anything I can help you with? Besides making sure Lysandra is out of the city?"

She looked at the bunker. "I've got everything under control here. I think you have more important things, right?"

Veronica nodded. "Yes, the citizen in Arakai are in danger. I will have to do my best to help them." She froze thinking to herself. "Before I leave, can I have some advice from my mother?"

She smiled. "Do your best, but don't overdo things. Don't want to lose you along with the city."

Veronica smiled at Rosaline's honest advice only to frown.

"The destruction of the city will be due to the Pendragon goverment. However the revolutionaries are partly to blame as well for starting the conflict. I don't want them to escape the city and cause more problem..." Veronica looked seriously into Rosaline's eyes. "If I find someone from the rebellion, should I kill them...or allow them to escape?"

Veronica stayed silent for a while taking in the advice. She gave a small sigh and nodded. "You really are great mother figure... you know that right?"

Rosaline smiled, walking up to Veronica. "Thanks, and between you and me, I hope to be a good Grandmother figure as well~." She winked at Veronica, chuckling.

A flush crossed Veronica's face. She quickly shook her head.
"You are talking about Dimitre, I hope." Veronica manages to splutter out of embarrassment.

"From any of my children." She laughed. "Anyway, I don't want to keep you longer than I should."

Veronica nodded and gave a small smile. "Alright I am off. I will be back as soon as I can." With that Veronica dashed off back into the forest in the direction of Arakai."
