Aftermath - Rubble Reflection

"Hello? Is anyone one there!?" Veronica shouted, but not even her echo answered her. Only a million or so of the original 3 million got out alive. She felt responsible somehow even after trying her best. She continued to search for survivors after the attack but it seemed like a lost cause. Too many destroyed buildings and too much rubble to shift. What was the city going to do?

Veronica continues her search and receives nothing for her efforts. There is not another sign of life out her but her. As she thinks this however, a figure comes into her view. A girl is sitting on a step of a destroyed building. As she slowly moves closer she realizes the figure is none other than Lysandra.

"Lysandra, how are you doing?" Veronica asks once she is close enough.

Veronica nodded. "I know...I lost everything too."

Veronica's flat had been much less decorated than Lysandra's but it was still home. It had a few belongings here and there. Thankfully the only picture if her parents was on her at all times.

"I heard from the others that you stayed till the very end." Veronica gave Lysandra a bow. "Thank you for helping, I know you were kinda forced into it, but I really appreciate your help."

"You have a couple of choices." Veronica says tilting her head in thought. "New Pendragon would be a place to find a home. You could probably retain a job with the goverment, as they should have your files. Another possibility is going North. I hear it's quite cold but there is plenty of space."

Veronica inwardly shook her head. She needed to be considering these choices as well. She needed a place to stay as well.

"They have a fortress up there, but it is mostly just snow." Veronica replied. "I honestly don't know too much about the place. It is on the edge of Pendragon's maps. Because I never had a reason to head there I will have to do more research about that to give you better answer."

Veronica was stuck between what artifact got stolen and shutting up about the subject in question. Eventually curiosity won out and she asked Lysandra about the incident.

"What artifact got stolen?"

"I see, I am sorry to hear that." That was one mystery down. "Well you did help with the evacuation of the city. I am sure you can ask Azir or anyone in that group to help you find a new home. I doubt they will be headed to New Pendragon so they must have a plan of some sort." Veornica reasoned.

Veronica sighed. "I really don't know. I was offered a place to stay by...well your mother actually. She is residing in the forest, but I don't want to be a burden on her." Veronica's shoulder slump as she continues to examine ideas. "I am pretty sure I am exiled from New Pendragon after helping the rebels and stuff and well some of the rebels still hate me after my fight with them... I guess my best shot is the north or just traveling I guess. I don't really have a plan yet."

"She was desperate to see you. She escaped jail to do so and risked coming to the city to see you." Veronica calmly stated. "She would love to have you back as her daughter. You only need to ask."

Veronica sighed. "Your the one who told me that you gave up on her as well as told me to tell her to give up on you. She respects your decision enough to not chase you because she loves you. It's up to you if you want to get her back as your mother."

"Yeah," Veronica smiles as she gives Lysandra the general directions to Rosaline's home. "I hope it works out between you two."

Veronica stiffened slightly before returning the gesture. She was never one for hugs ever since her parents passed. "Don't count yourself short if you make things up with Rosaline then you can stay with her, maybe we both could."
