Aftermath

Natsumi walked around Centauri looking at each soldier as she no longer cared to hide her true self since she wanted to show she was fighting along side them. Her chain sword with its engine turned off rested over her shoulders and the nape of her neck. She was covered head to toe in blood from demons she's killed especially the fat war leader that she essentially tortured before executing him. After walking and stopping every now and then to talk with some soldiers she stopped seeing a centaur girl and she tilt her head as she walked over to her slowly.

Frea was inspecting her weapon, knelt down on the ground. She had some gore on her from the battle, but was otherwise unscathed. She hummed as she went, the melody being passed down to her from her mother.

She stopped a few feet behind Frea, her shadow cast over her. "Hmm...a regular long bow, interesting." She stared at the centaur for a bit before standing upright. "So are you here to help the humans?" She tightened her grip on her weapon as she asked this in case she had to fight.

She quickly stood up, turning to face Natsumi. Her armor was that of the humans, although they didn't have anything for her lower half. "Yes ma'am. I am a mercenary in service to human forces." Her hooves kicked up a bit of dust as she stabilized herself.

"As am I, but I'm more so in service to them because of what my father and race has done, and I want to stop all of this war..." Her sentence trailed off a bit "...even if it means the death of my father." She bowed slightly now. "Sorry I just realized I haven't introduced myself, I'm Natsumi Murrpau."

Frea returned the bow. "And I am Frea Feierdi. I joined to help protect the forest where my mother and father live." She looked over Natsumi. "Though by your words...you are a Demon, ma'am?" She resisted the instinct to draw her blaster, knowing that a demon stood before her.

She nodded slightly her ears twitching a bit. "You would be correct, however unlike the ones that attack humans, I want to protect people."

Frea smiled. "So there are good demons. That is helpful to know. Are there more like you..." She looked around, half expecting to be surrounded by demons. "...fighting for the humans?"

"There's a small number, but yes there is more." She tilt her head. "But what are you, I don't think I've ever met your kind."

"I...I am a centaur...though, besides mother and father, I have not seen any of my kind either..." She returned to her sitting position, her gaze more level with that of Natsumi's.

Her tail flicked to the right a bit before wrapping around her waist and she smiled a bit. "Maybe, your race is just spread out more?"

"Maybe. But my problems are insignificant compared to the war the humans face. When it is over, I may go searching for more of my race. I am fourty-six, so it would be good to settle down." She chuckled, making light of the situation. "What do you think, ma'am?"

"Please if you don't mind, call me Natsumi. I can understand where you come from for that. Me I'm probably if my father dies plan to take his place and pull the attacking demons out of this world." She sat down next to her and leaned back resting on her hands. "After that I want to put the soldiers and people who died to rest."

"Would you really have that power? I think only the leader of all demons would be able to do such a thing...and demons are not exactly peaceful creatures..." She kept her gaze fixed on Natsumi. "...no offense meant to you, of course, Miss Natsumi."

"I mean...I am the heir to the throne." She turned her head looking to Frea. "and no offense was taken, you're right demon's aren't exactly peaceful, neither am I, but I fight for the humans."

"Do you have any of your kind here that you consider a friend?" She smiled. It was a chance to learn a bit about how demon culture worked, from someone who wouldn't attack her. "Or are demons solitary creatures...even in times of peace?"

Frea smiled. "I will not tell a soul, on my honor as a warrior." She wanted to earn the trust of this demon, since they could be powerful allies in times of crisis.

"I'm sorry but I won't say where she is, not until this war is over and I'm sure she'll be safe from being judged unjustly." She stood up and stretched before turning to Frea again. "Frea, I wish to know how you got some blood on you if you've been using a bow, do you also fight in close range if needed?"

Frea looked down at her armor. "Oh, no. I prefer long range fighting...this must have been caused by my hooves kicking up gore from the battlefield..."

"I see, I prefer getting in the thick of things, but use the crossbow on my arm here to supplement my ranged combat if needed." She then held up her mechanical arm showing off the crossbow built into it.

"I see...may...I ask how you came to be like you are now?" Her gaze turned to the strange mechanical arm.

"Do you mean how I came to having this arm?" She looked at it before looking back to Frea. "Cause if that's what you mean, it's a bit of a story."

Frea nodded. "If you do not mind sharing the tale. If it is too personal, I understand."

She sat back down and looked down. "I don't mind, but it hurts a bit to think about it. See when I was little I got caught between a battle of two demon clans. I was about 6 at the time, and I got hurt severely, losing my arm in the process. Somehow a human found his way into the demon world, I don't know the specifics of how, but he fixed up my arm by making this, and a few others for as I got older. Of course as you can see they are always a bit bigger than my other arm in length and size entirely....." her sentence stopped for a bit before she took a breath "My father finding out about this didn't like that a human had helped me, even that a human interacted with me in any way and had him captured and executed."
