Hopes and Hunting.

Nadia was standing on top of branch near the top of a tall tree at the outskirts of the Salynean Forest looking around while also looking down every few minutes to see if anyone was around or any movement happened. She noticed a familiar scent from earlier and jumped down to a lower branch before heading in the direction of that scent and she stopped when she saw Astraria she then slumped back against a tree with a loud thump looking like she lost hope.

Astraria was looking around, still without her dress so she could fly if need be. She was scouting the area for any edibles.

She looked down at Astraria and grabbed a pine cone before tossing it down at her teasingly.

She looked up. "O-oh...you startled me...Nadia, was it?"

She jumped off the branch before quickly grabbing another further down and finally let go of it and landed on her feet on the ground. "Yeah. What are you doing out here in the Salynean Forest?"

"The place I was staying at wasn't quite safe anymore...so I found somewhere else..."

She tilt her head. "Not safe?" She then sighed. "Also nothing about how I...you know what never mind." She then shook her head.

"How you what?" She looked around, making sure no threats were around.

"Nothing...so what's happening that made you feel unsafe?" She leaned against a nearby tree and pulled her hood back.

She hesitated for a moment. "I...let my guard down around a human..."

"Oh...and they reported you?" She then stretched and cracked her knuckles "I could go deal with them if you want."

"N-no...she had some sort of weapon...I couldn't really escape from her..." She looked at the ground. "...th-thank you though..."

"Oh...." She then looked around a bit before looking back to Astraria. "So where are you staying for now?"

"A small cabin not far from here...I'm out foraging for food. Only have a few days' worth of rations left...I think going into town won't be an option anymore..."

"Hmm....I could bring some food out next time I'm out here." She then sighed and looked towards the forest. "However that won't be permanent."

"You don't have to do that..." She shifted her wings a little. "...so...what are you doing out here?"

"Oh...me?" I'm out here looking for more rumors of those large dogs..I guess." She was now looking out in the forest. "Hoping I can find them."

"That's the best time to search for them." She then looked up at the sky and smiled looking at the moon. "Plus I love wandering this forest at night."

"I see..." Astraria walked over to the trees, examining the area for edibles. "...why are you hunting for them again?"

"Why?" She then looked to Astraria. "I guess I feel that I belong with them."

she sighed and closed her eyes. "The ones that attacked you were probably low class half breeds."

She didn't know how to respond. Those things nearly ripped her wings off...and worse. "Y-you...aren't...like them...are you?" She picked a few mushrooms to get her mind off of things, putting them inside her dress, which was doubling as a satchel.

"Well...if you mean feral. No. Only half breeds and lower tend to lose control of themselves when they transform. Hell they only transform according to the lunar cycle." She then opened her eyes which were now glowing an amber color instead of their regular green. "They also don't get to selectively transform parts of themselves at will." Nadia then stretched. "Pure bloods however can, are less feral but are vicious when trying to protect anything they care about or anyone"
