Night Time Walk

"Are you sure? I can make more than just plain cereal for my daughter, you know."

She blinked and smiled. "Ok...Omelet then?"

"Sure. That's better. You don't have to act shy around me. You can have anything you want, okay? Just ask." *She got up, and went to make breakfast.*

She followed her and climbed up onto a chair. "Mommy...did I tell you about my past yet?"

"No, and you don't have to if you don't want to." *She was in the middle of preparing to make breakfast.*

"I...I'm the last survivor the Minx clan." She looked down. "Last night when I woke up from a nightmare it was really just a memory from seeing all of my clan killed by the Vaestran clan." She then wiped some tears from her eyes. "I don't know why our clans were fighting though."

"Vaestran...rings a bell...I think my father set me up with their heir as well...I remember the discord back then too...that was over 600 years ago though...long before you were born."

She blinked and rubbed her eyes. "I...had no where to go after that war and having hid to escape. So I hid in the human world as a human...always hiding my ears and tail so they won't know I was a demon and well after foster homes just kept passing me over to others because they thought I was a problem child I just left them too. Started to take up stealing food to stay alive and sleeping in the park. Eventually Igrus caught me stealing food though."

"I see. I had a bad history too. Family issues, though." *She started to make omelets for the both of them.* "It's nice to have a family again though, right?"

She nodded and smiled slightly. "I'm glad you took me in."

"You're welcome. Here's your omelet." *She put it in front of her, along with a fork.* "I was born to a terrible father, who was an egotistical nutcase. Everything was about restoring purity to the demon world. He wanted me to have full-demon children, and I refused. I ran away from home when I was 60. That was over 600 years ago."

She blinked and started to eat her omelet. "We both have had hard times. Maybe we were meant to find each other?" She said this kind of jokingly but also with a hint of seriousness behind it.

"Maybe we were. I was shut in a shell ever since, and barely warmed up to my husband of 15 years. I was not as caring as I am now. Everything was business, not much love."

She blinked and then set her fork down and looked at Tsun. "Mommy..." She then smiled a bit and climbed down from the chair and hugged her.

"Are you done with breakfast?" *She patted her back.*

She nodded and climbed up onto Tsun's lap. "Yes." She then cuddled.

"Okay. We'll go to the mall when you get dressed. I have some of Takumi's old clothes in my closet. You can have them."

She blinked and smiled. "Ok." She then ran to the bathroom to go get cleaned up first.

"She reminds me so much of Namide when she was her age...I wonder why?" *She began to eat her omelet before it got cold.*

She finished showering and walked out wrapped in a towel. "Mommy...I'm done."

"Okay sweetie, did you find some clothes that fit?"

"Not yet." She walked over and blinked. "Can you help me?"

"Sure." *She walked with her to the room.* "What do you need help with?"

"Just picking out clothes." She looked up at her. "I haven't done so in a while."

"Okay. Whatever is there, is yours. Takumi doesn't fit into them anymore." *She got out the box of clothes.*
