Lost in the Park

She had no idea what to say. "Um...I...Well..." 'What do I say?' She stood there, confused.

Gyanburā was curious on why this little girl was in a pub, so he walked over to her. "Are you lost?"

"Well...I...Um...I..." She still had no clue what to say, and was very confused as to why people were talking to her.

The waitress picked her up, and brought her to a room behind the bar. She invited the man to join her. Putting her down on a couch there, she got a bit of hair out of the girls face, and looked at her. "you'll be all right. Can you tell me what your name is?"

"It's...It's Katie..." She was still confused, but wasn't as nervous about talking to them.

"Hi Katie. My name's Amber. Is there anyone we can contact, like your mommy or daddy?"

"No...I don't even know if I ever had parents." The thought of the parents she may or may not have had made a teardrop fall from her eye, though she didn't notice, or notice she was felling sad. "Why are there so many people here, anyway? And where are we?"

Gyanburā looked at the little girl. "My name is Gyanburā and this is...a pub."

"A what?" She tilted her head, curious as to what a pub was.

She cleaned her cheeks with her soft hand. "Well, this is a place where people can come and drink, talk, and have fun together. A pub, yes. But everyone has parents. Maybe you lost them when you were very young. But it'll be all right, we'll get you somewhere where they'll take good care for you."

"Uh...Oh...Ok...But I...I've been fine living on my own since I was..." She counted with her fingers. "I think...3."

Gyanburā was confused by this, how could a little girl have been living on her own since she was 3? "Oh...is that so?"

"Well, but we can't just let you be alone? How about this, you can stay here, and when I'm done with my work here, we can go to my house, and find something for you. He can come along as well, if you want that."

"Y...Yeah." Her head once again tilted, only this time curious as to why he asked. "Well...Isn't that normal?"

She turned to Amber. "That sounds like a great idea. Thank you."

"Well, you two stay here then, ok? Be nice, and don't get me into any trouble please." She stoop up straight, and looked at the guy. She shook his hand, and introduced herself. "Hey, I'm Amber Parch. Sorry about putting you in here, but she needs someone to rely on, and I have to work. I hope you don't mind."

Gyanburā shook his head. "It's no problem at all; I love kids. And I am Gyanburā the pleasure is mine."

"Thanks, I'll repay you some time." She gave Katie a wink, then went out, to continue her work.

Katie laughed for a second. "So...What should we do now?"

Gyanburā took out some cards he had in his pocket. "Would you link to see a card trick?"

"Sure." She smiled happily.

He took out the cards and told her "Pick a card, any card."

"Hmm..." She picked the one all the way on the left.

"Now place it in the middle of the deck." He spread the cards evenly between his hands.

She put in in the middle.

He shuffled the deck and took a card out and showed it to her without looking at it himself. "Is this the card you chose?"
