Subject: Meetin' the Flock folks - The Nest Mon Mar 14, 2016 1:54 am

Astraria and Helena flew together ahead of Dimitre, a mountain range coming into view, and soon, a small house nestled on the side of one of the mountain faces. It was large by human standards, with a modest porch for landing and taking off. "We're home~. Now we wait for your father. We were taking turns looking for you in the beginning, but we thought it would be more effective to look at the same time...we've both been away from here for a month or so now..."

Astraria looked around, nodding as her mother spoke to her. "I see..." It looked exactly like it did when she left all those years ago. She looked back to the porch, wondering if Dimitre had landed okay.

Dimitre may have been able to fly, do to his new skills with his powers, but clumsy when it cam to landing, Astraria and her mother have already landed, and he was coming in hot, he tried to use more force to the front of his body to slowdown for the landing. He made to the porch, but he ended up running as soon as he landed then tripped and rolled until he hit the porches furniture. *Thud* "Owowow!"

Helena laughed as Astraria went to collect Dimitre. "He is a clumsy bird, isn't he?"

Astraria blushed, helping Dimitre up, healing a few bruises. "D-don't say that, mother! D-dimitre flew quite well!" She looked at Dimitre, smiling. "Right, Dimitre?"

"Yeah, my flying has gotten lot better than it was, just didn't work on the landing as much." He was glad Astraria was supporting him in front of his mother, but felt embarrassed about his landing skills after Helena laughed at him. "Don't worry my next landing is going to be rock solid and I'll show you that I can fly better than you Helena." He smiles as he boasts about something he isn't good at.

"I'll look forward to seeing a graceful landing from you, human without wings." She smiled, walking away. She walked off into another room, leaving the two of them alone.

"D-do not mind her, Dimitre...she means well, but can be a bit hard on people at times..." She smiled, hugging Dimitre. "...I quite enjoyed your landing. You do not have wings like I do, yet you can still fly alongside me. I am grateful for that, at least. Landing does not matter, I can always tend to your wounds afterward."

He returns the hug back to her gently not to squeeze her wings. "I can handle her criticism and I'm glad I took the time to learn more about my powers and to be able fly with you. As long I got you supporting me, I can face anything your parents might throw at me. Now should we go inside, I'm starting to get hungry flying here." Astraria would lead him inside, but he felt nervous coming to the home Astraria had grew up in.

"I will make you something then, Dimitre~." She led him to the kitchen, where Helena was already making something. "O-oh...she's already making something."

"Of course, I can't let my fledgling go hungry, can I? We froze most of our food before we left, so it is going to take some time to thaw things. I hope your mate here can wait a while longer to refuel." She hummed a tune while she cooked that Astraria had hummed many a time while she lived with Dimitre.

"Don't worry, I can wait. I still have plenty of calories that haven't burned yet." Dimitre's powers revolve around him taking in a certain quantity of calories a day in order for him to use them, the less calories he consumes the less energy has at using gravity. "This a pretty nice home, but too far up in the mountains don't you think."

"It keeps us safe from marauding humans, who can't fly up here." She moved from one thing to another as she worked to prepare the food. "Me, Astraria, and her father are acclimated to these heights as well, which humans have to spend months, if not years, to adjust to." She looked at him, smiling. "Just keeping our flock safe. There aren't many Angels here in the world anymore...have to keep our kind alive, right? In my sixteen hundred years, I have only seen a handful of other Angels. My parents, my husband's parents and siblings, and the stray Angel here and there who had no flock to come home to."

Dimitre's vision was becoming a little blurry, it must be due to the height elevation. "Umm, ...you...said something..a-about elevation." He was starting to feel to unwell and in his eyes the room started to spin, he was beginning to feel the effects of what might seem to be vertigo, his started to feel like jelly, and were about to give any second. "C-can...I..have a a..seat..please."

Astraria escorted him to the dining room, sitting him down on a chair. "M-mother! You knew about this and didn't tell him before we left the inn?" It was obvious now why she couldn't find her home again after leaving...it was where most people couldn't get to it. "He might not be able to live here!"

Dimitre was holding his head with his right hand as though holding his head will stop the spinning. He was sitting down on a nice comfy wooden chair what seemed to be hand crafted, he grabbed Astraria's arm with his left hand. "D-don't worry... Astraria...this is...nothing give me...a day or two...I'll have...adjusted." He lets go of her arm and closes his eyes. "I can...still use... some water."

"N-no! Y-you're not okay! We need to get you down to the foot of the mountain quickly..."

At that moment, Helena came over with a glass of water. "...I mentioned the altitude because we're in a hard to access part of the mountain. The only way in or out is flight."

A few powerful wing-beats could be heard from where they were all gathered. "Helena!? Are you home!? You humans better not have taken over our home in my absence!"

Dimitre hears an unfamiliar coming from the porch area of the house, he was still feeling unwell after following Helena and Astraria up to there mountain and catching vertigo. "Who's that...is it... your dad...Astraria." He tries to get up from the chair to be ready to greet the incoming man that was entering the porch.

Astraria kept him seated. "Y-yes...it is him, Dimitre...you really should sit down." She sat next to him, doing what she could to help him cope. "Please...I don't want you to get hurt." Theoaster came into the room, seeing the two. "Just where have you been, Astraria, and who is this!?" He looked at Dimitre, Helena coming up to him with some water.

Dimitre received his water from Helena that he asked for earlier and was being comforted by Astraria since he was still feeling dizzy. He attempted to greet Astraria's father. "N-nice to...meet you...sir...my name is...Dimitre." He was feeling even worse than he was before. "I...think I...need to...lay down."

"He is a human, dear. You know they can't stay up here for long unless they're acclimated to the air up here..." Helena looked at Dimitre. "...he's also Astraria's mate, so go easy on him, okay dear?"

Theoaster looked at Dimitre, then Astraria. "Her mate, huh? How did he get here without wings?" He sighed, getting Helena's message. "You're going down to the base of the mountain for now." He picked Dimitre up, carrying him off before Astraria could object.

Dimitre was grabbed by Astraria's, but he didn't have time to react when he picked him up and flew out of the house, while they descend down to the base of the mountain Dimitre was starting to regain his vision and his breathing going back to normal, but he didn't like to be carried. "Astraria's father you can let me go now I've regained my breathing and vision, so just let me go." He see's they were almost all the way down to the base of the mountain.

They stopped at the base, his powerful wings slowing them down near instantly. "Very well." He dropped Dimitre to the ground, with Dimitre landing with a thud. He touched down, folding his wings in as he did so. "So, what is your story, and how did you come to know our daughter? Helena seems to accept you, but I'm not so easy. She's our only fledgling, so it is my job to make sure she is safe. Got that?"

Dimitre hit the ground pretty hard, but it wasn't fatal, he got up with a few bruises, it bother him that Astraria's father dropped him that way. He understood Astaria's father's feelings to protect her only duaghter, and told him what he really was. "So, you want the truth, get it you her father and she is your duaghter. Fine, I'm a government experiment meant to hunt down and kill targets of the Arakai government deems necessary, I wasn't naturally born like a normal human should, and was subjected to genetic physical enhancements for killing, but I turned on them, because they killed my mother before I was born." Dimitre continued to tell his story up to the point on he met Astraria. "So, you see sir I fell in love as soon as I met her and don't care if she is an angel."

He stood back, looking him over. "So you're a born killer? Are you using her to get close to more Angels? I shouldn't have to tell you that there are few of us left in the world." He sat on a nearby rock. "I ask because it is unusual for a human to fall in love with one of our kind, since you humans cannot normally fly, or is it being an experiment that has caused you to love my fledgling daughter?"

Dimitre realized he shouldn't have said he was meant to be a weapon to kill but, he couldn't lie to Astraria's father. "No! It's not because I was an experiment that I fell in love with your daughter, it's because she is a kind loving person, that's why I fell in love with your daughter, and was able to fly because of her, she's supported me, and I have protected her against anyone who do her harm. I really care for your daughter and she loves me back." He begins to use what left over energy he had left to make back up the mountain, he raised his hands and a visible clear sphere formed around him and he began to float. "So, I don't care if you or the world doesn't except me to be with your daughter, I will still be by her side whether you like it or not!"

"I never said I didn't accept you, I was trying to make sure you weren't planning to do anything to her." He sighed. This human was becoming defensive about this, and that was never good. "You need to adjust to the air around our nest, before you can live with us."

Dimitre drops back down to the ground and lands on his feet for a change. "So, does that mean you will let be with your daughter?" He couldn't tell if Astraria's father was saying yes or no, but if he was willing to teach him how to live in high altitudes it was a start.

"Helena already seems to accept you, but I will be wary of you until you prove that you will be loyal to our daughter." He stood up. "Am I understood, human?"
