Though she understood not a word of what he said, she saw the fear in his eyes. Getting close to him, she placed her hands on his cheeks, surprisingly soft considering with what strength she'd obliterated the boat. She brought him near another entrance, a room from which she gave him a bit of a flower-looking plant. As she'd handed it to him, she took a bit to craft a new orb of oxygen, seeing his current one getting smaller.

He looked at the plant and blinked tilting his head to the right. "What...do you want from me?" He backed up a bit looking to her out of confusion.

She added her newly made sphere to the one already in place. Then, as a mother showing their child, she took one of the plants herself, and took a bite from it. The sea fruit had a very tender body, with a core near the root. It was juicy and a bit sweet sour in taste. Unlike any of them fruit back on the surface though, this filled up considerably, giving a lot more nutrients than any other plant possibly could, mainly due to the location inside the reef that it was growing at.

He blinked and then sighed. "I have no choice do I?" He then took a bite of the sea fruit she gave him. Noticing the sour yet sweet taste he finished eating the fruit.

She said something again, and again sounding more like singing rather than words. But as she spoke, she placed her hands on herself, as she uttered a tone resembling a word, Nami. She repeated it several times, ensuring he knew she was Nami. The first step to communication between land and sea. All other mermaids would have disapproved, and never done this, but she was different. Always seeking for the good and the new.

He tilt his head before pointing to her. "Your name is Nami?" He then placed a hnd on his chest. "I'm Tendou." He repeated his name a few times like she did with him so she could understand that was his name. He then moved closer looking like he can barely swim, if at all. He still seemed very uncomfortable and afraid from being submerged.

She took his hands, repeating his name once, though it came out fairly more musical from her than it was intended to. With his hands in hers, she swam backwards slowly, out of the room and into the open sea again. Behind him was the castle, vanishing in the distance, after which they arrived at another site. It was the wreck of one of the major ships Shya-ko had in service. Since he came from above, she figured he knew it, and as such, showed him. The wreck was of a massive ship, clearly one of Shyan origin, though fairly well preserved. As they got closer, the markings on the side formed a barely readable, yet still visible name. "Excelsior". A ship that had gone missing 150 years ago.

He looked at the ship, not recognizing it, or knowing anything about it. He then looked at her holding her hand still afraid to let go in case of a current. "Why are you showing me these things?" He looked to her confusion shown on face.

She smiled again in her own way, then brought him inside of the ship. Not through conventional entrances, but rather a breach in the hull, near the reef. What he then witnessed inside was stunning to a whole new level. Instead of sea creatures, or the corpses of the dead, there were two things. One of them was loads of pristine wood, all shifted to the side due to the ship leaning to the port side. There was enough to supply the whole village for years with solid equipment and building materials. It belonged to the trees the phoenixes so very much enjoy breeding in, the Maokai tree. Once the tree dies, its wood is virtually ageless, much like stone or metal. The sheer amounts in here were astounding and would be invaluable to the village. The other thing was even more so surprising. Floating in the middle, a cluster of eggs, not much bigger than a soccer ball each. They were slightly transparant, revealing only somewhat the lifeforms inside. The wreck of the Excelsior, was at the same time the breeding grounds for the mermaids. From the wooden deck, she picked up a golden aged necklace. It had the form of a human with wings, small as it was. She placed the necklace in Tendou's hand, as a gift of mutual understanding, trust, and friendship, even thought she felt little value on the necklace itself.

He looked to her and blinked before putting the necklace on. He then leaned against her relaxing a bit more now. "T..Thank you I guess." He then looked at the eggs and pointed to them before pointing to her as if asking if they were hers.

As he pointed towards the eggs, she shook her head. Despite of their separation for all this time and the fact their species practically never connected, communication between them was easier than you'd have initially thought. Though she brought him here, getting closer was out of the question, which she made clear by hanging between him and their offspring. After a while of observation, she went deeper, and retrieved a part of the woodsupply lying untouched for him to take back. Bringing him to the main deck of the frigate, she then looked at him, from underneath, upwards, questioning whether he'd seen enough. She felt doubtful that she could create another air bubble for him and would rather be safe than have him drown.

He took the supply of wood and held it under his right arm before looking at her. "I wish we could communicate more easily." He looked a bit pale now as if he's been getting weaker the longer he's been under water. "I need to get out of the water soon."

With a hand in hers, she slowly started to make their ascend towards the surface. Knowing his boat would be gone entirely by now, she made her way in the direction of the shore as well, but not too fast. Though the mermaids were sturdy enough to be able to withstand the sudden pressure changes, land creatures she knew were not. It took them about 10 minutes to reach the surface. She herself remained underwater, about 100 meters off the coast line, Shya-ko bathing in the first sunlight in the distance. She knew that even though she was able to show her world to him, it was nigh impossible for him to show his world. Mermaids never survived outside of the water. And it was unlikely that changed. She nodded towards the beach and Shya-ko's piers, as a question whether he needed the help to get there, or if he could manage on his own.

He looked towards the shore line and shook his head, knowing he's now too weak to swim on his own. He looked to her. "I...I can't now."

As he shook his head, she took it as a sign that he needed no help in making it back. She let go of him gradually before separating entirely and letting herself sink back down slowly.

He struggled to swim back to the shore but started sinking quickly the weaker he got. "Damn it...this is why I hate water."

She noticed by his thrashing in the water he was not capable to get back on his own. Confused why he said he could regardless, she sped up and quickly grabbed him, swimming at a fairly high speed towards the beach. About several yards away, she made a sharp curve, letting him slide across the water the last distance before plunging back into the deep.

He sighed once he was back on land and he looked out at the water. "T..Thank you Nami." He laid back on the ground looking up at the sky now. "I hope we can meet again sometime...on better circumstances." He mumbled to himself while resting on shore now.
