PostSubject: Fishing Excursion   Tue Apr 19, 2016 2:05 pm

Tendou had taken the day off from work so that he could go fishing. He rented a boat and went out on it. He was laying back in the boat looking up at the sky while his fishing rod was mounted on the side of the boat. He kept trying to avoid thinking about the water all around him. "I have to conquer my fear of water sometime..." He said to himself and then sat up looking around at the water. "But...why did I go so far out?" He then sighed. "Worse comes to worse I can just fly back to town...downside the boat will probably be incinerated." He then pulled his fishing rod in getting a bite, but he threw the fish back, only fishing for fun.

From deep underneath, a figure spotted the boat solely out in the open water. Any more, and it would be considered on open sea. Remaining at distance, the figure rose from the depths to about a couple yards distance under the boat, seeing a fish taking bait of what appeared to be a small glinstering metal object. Intrigued, she went closer to it, unaware of the threat it actually posed.

Not noticing a figure at a distance Tendou sighed and placed bait on his hook again before casting his line and then mounting his pole on the side of the boat before laying back trying to ignore all the water around him again.

Curious to the point of stupidity, the figure touched the small metal object, revealed to her as a hook with something on it. Recognizing the substance on it as eatable, she grabbed the hook with both hands to drag it down under.

Feeling a strong tug on his fishing pole he sat up and grabbed it, pulling back trying to reel in whatever was on the other end. "This feels stronger than a regular fish." He noticed the pole was bending as if being pulled by a very large fish, maybe akin to a shark.

The figure held the line just above the hook firmly, then with a strong move yanked it down, the hook instantly slipping and burying itself into one of the hands.

He pulled back on the fishing rod even harder this time feeling an incredibly strong pull. "The hell did I catch?"

Feeling the hook dig even deeper into the hand with the strong pull from above, the figure made a decision. With full force, it swam up towards the boat and bashed against it, wood cracking upon impact.

The boat rocking and cracking a bit from being hit, he tightened his grip on the fishing rod.

From underneath, a tail rose up, completely shattering the side of the boat. From the water, a mermaid rose, blue-ish and yellow colors, and hands on his line, blood seeping down her arms. Her eyes locked with his for a split second, before her tail came crashing down at the center of the boat again.

Noticing this mermaid he let go of the fishing rod quickly and fell backwards falling into the water. At this point he started to panic and thrash around barely able to swim, as he grabbed onto the side of the boat trying to stay afloat.

The mermaid dove again, trying to get the hook out. As she eventually managed, she looked back up, seeing the person struggling to stay afloat. Part of her screamed to go home, that he was bad news. But her better nature got the upper hand. She swam upwards towards the sinking dingy. Once there, she told him to stop thrashing and just relax his body. Though none of what she said came over as words, but rather singing, her eyes gave away the hint as they looked into his.

He looked to her and relaxed slightly, still holding on to the sinking boat. He seemed a bit panicked still but kept his eyes on her. He looked away slightly seeming sorry for having hooked her.

With one of her hands, she touched her lips, then slowly moved her fingers away, a bubble forming. It contained pure oxygen, so if he set it ablaze, there would be little left of what's inside. With a strong tail move, she dragged them both underwater, leaving the boat behind to sink on its own terms, just as she placed the bubble around his head, large enough to last a good 30 minutes. Slowly, she let go of him, like a parents letting go of their child learning to ride a bike on their own for the first time, staying close and spreading her arms, being in full rest position herself, regardless of the red cloud forming around her right hand.

He looked around seeing he was underwater now before looking back to her noticing her hand was bleeding and then looked away. "Are...are you alright?" He sounded like he was a bit afraid still.

Her head tilted a slight bit to the right, not understanding what he said. As the first contact between the mermaids and land creatures that didn't end up in one sides fatal encounter, they knew practically nothing of each other. The mermaid however knew all too well that all creatures needed oxygen to survive. And since they had no gills as she had, she used some of her supply to create the bubble. Though she only could make 3 before running out. With a movement of her good hand she gestured him to come closer, as she went deeper into the ocean.

He shook his head not wanting to go deeper into the ocean. "Can..you understand me?" He wasn't sure if she was angry with him or not.

She swam up to him, taking his hand and literally started dragging him down. The water around them became darker the deeper they went, but seemed to be exerting barely any pressure with what you'd expect in an ocean. It took them a minute with him struggling before they reached what seemed like an underwater fortress. The coral reef had been rebuilt in certain points into a castle like design. But not as you'd see a castle on the surface. This had tunnels through it, instead of halls. No doors. No windows. But an excess of beautiful colors. Several other mermaids quickly swam away as they saw them, but she ignored their reaction.

He held on to her arm not liking how deep they were in the water now. He then looked around seeing the castle and he looked at her before reaching out to touch her wounded hand. "I'm...sorry that I hurt you..." He sounded even more afraid.

She looked at him, something on her face resembling a smile appearing. She dragged him along into the castle. Around them, the coral reef had been mined out in such a smooth way that it almost seemed natural. Glowing moss illuminated the darkest parts of it, the rest fairly visible, despite the fact that they didn't require as much light, due to them being used to living at such depths. With him right behind her, she arrived into a room with a different sort of moss growing all around the walls. It was hard to tell what was the ceiling and what was the floor at this point. Letting go of him, she neared one of the plants, placing her wounded hand in it. When she pulled away, her hand was covered in a vague luminescent green-ish goo, but the bleeding had stopped. It seemed like quite the potent healing substance, as she shook it off after a good 20 seconds, her hand renewed almost entirely, with just the hint of a scar remaining.

"I don't belong down here." He looked to her. "I'm glad to see you're healed. Can...Can I get out of the water now?" He looked around for some where he can curl up. "Or...are you going to hurt me for hooking your hand?"
